About Therapy

Not waving but drowning

You’re at the end of your rope; feeling overwhelmed and wanting to run away and hide! Your life is in chaos, and you don’t know where to turn.

To the outside world, you’re strong – you’ve got it all together. If they only knew….

Things are going wrong right and left – your job, your relationships, your kids.

Maybe you and your partner just don’t have that connection anymore.

Maybe it is nightmares, not sleeping, and flashbacks from past traumatic events.

Whatever the cause of the chaos, you need help!

Therapy can get you back on track.

You can make re-decisions about yourself – see more positives – learn to love yourself. Learn strategies to cope with the ups and downs of life. Make a plan for self-care. Develop deeper relationships.

Become the person you want to be.

About Kim

I’ve been there – on both sides.

While I am driven, compassionate, caring and understanding, I’ll push you when you need it and sit with you when you need support.

I have experience both as a therapist and in life issues of my own. As a therapist, I have training in several different types of therapy (EMDR and PLAY Therapy to name two), and my clients range from 3 – 83.

I will work with your whole family.

My family and I have experienced heartache and survived extremely stressful times. I know what it’s like to feel overwhelmed and to suffer emotional pain.

I am not going to judge you; I’m here to work with you.

And I’d be honored to walk this journey with you. I’m the owner of Shreveport Therapy, and I strive to create a place where your whole family can come for us to guide you through your pain and into healing.

I enjoy working with people suffering from chronic illnesses and pain. I also specialize in children with special needs, Autism, and genetic disorders.

I work with the whole family – because emotional and physical pain does not affect only one person, but the entire family.

I hold a master’s degree in social work. I take my education seriously and have invested in extensive training: EMDR, play therapy, Transactional Analysis, and the Gottman Marriage Counseling have been my primary focuses.

I’m the mother of three adult children, the youngest of whom has special needs. My husband and I have been married for almost 30 years.
